I Love to See the Temple

They are few and far between, so I wanted to share a successful Family Home Evening that we had tonight. We talked about temples and about being sealed as a family. We then looked at pictures of temples that are significant to our families - the ones we (or other family members) were married in, went to for the first time, etc. For the activity, we built temples out of LEGO blocks and took pictures. The kids had a lot of fun and mommy and daddy were happy because there wasn't much arguing!
Mommy and Riley built a temple for the zoo keeper and his tiger.
Aiden built a slide on his so that Bob could have fun.
Will had a chair for his people to sit in.
Quinn's temple is under construction - they are putting the angel Moroni on!

I liked the lighting on this one!

Sleepytime

These are some pictures we took the other night of the kids asleep. Aiden and Will are both hanging out of their beds. Riley is in bed with Quinn. We've been trying to get her to sleep in her toddler bed. We know when she's stopped crying that she has gotten into Quinn's bed. Doug actually woke up one night after she had fallen asleep in her bed, to check on her and she wasn't in her bed. She had gotten in bed with Quinn in the middle of the night and we never heard her get up. We were a little panicked when she wasn't in her bed! In the picture she has on some of Will and Aiden's pjs. I sent the boys to their room to get changed and she followed and helped herself to some mismatched pjs.

Happy Birthday Will and Aiden

It's hard to believe that Will and Aiden are 5 today! Here are some pics from previous birthdays.

This is the first time the boys were together after they were born. They are 4 days old.

Sleeping after the birthday festivities.

2nd birthday

This was their train birthday. The cakes are made out of pre-made pound cake and they tasted horrible. Quinn still talks about how bad they tasted.

The boys always watch each other open their presents. It's kind of funny to watch.

Quinn's Birthday - Round 1

Quinn's Birthday is on Tuesday, but because we are the "out-of-towners" in our families, we tend to get packages and presents from family the whole week around the kiddo's birthdays. Quinn was thrilled to get a package yesterday from Grandpa. To his delight, he got a Space Police LEGO set. Before he opened it, I told him it was probably a rock with a piece of string to wrap around it (because everybody wants a rock to wind a piece of string around, right?). He didn't much appreciate that... He put the set together by himself, though it took about two hours (due to lack of focus, not lack of skill).

Wessleman Park

We went to a place called Wessleman Woods today. They have a nature center and trails. We had lots of fun on the trails and the weather was really nice. The nature center is a lot of fun too. There is an area to watch birds, things for the kids to play with, live and stuffed animals, and they have a cave. We've been a couple of times but it's been a while. Will wants to go back tomorrow!
Aiden

Riley spent most of the walk here or...

here! We're not sure what she was scared of. Probably all the mosquitoes!

A tree that had fallen over. Probably, from the ice storm and all the rain.

Quinn's not in this picture because he saw a spider on the bench.

Happy Hikers!

We got ice cream after. Riley wore most of hers!

Here are some pictures from last weekend and this week. Last weekend I took Quinn and Riley down to Memphis and Doug stayed here with Aiden and Will. They had lots of fun. Doug took them to play mini-golf. Yesterday, was their end of the school year skating party. Aiden did pretty good, but Will refused to get off the carpet! He wasn't the only one though.
