Sigh...

We love Aiden. We really do. I went into the bathroom the other day to wash my hands and this is what I found. I would usually get upset over stuff like this, but I had to laugh and get the camera this time. I was impressed with how symmetrically he put the underwear on the faucet.

Riley vs. the eclaire

So we are eating lunch while visiting my cousin Amy. After gorging ourselves on hamburgers, beans, chips and various assorted melons, Amy's dad, my Uncle Bob, proceeds to pull out boxes of frozen creme puffs, mini-eclaires and mini-cheesecakes. Holy monkey, we ate them all. Every one.

Riley got in on the fun too. She sized up her opponent - a worthy mini-eclaire that put up a good fight - and arose victorious with the spoils of war all over her face!

Here is Riley and cousin Mary. They were cute together when they weren't hitting, pinching, slapping or pulling hair (which consequently was about the duration of this little photoshoot).

The funny thing is that we went to Clarksville for the blessing of Amy's 4th, Aaron, but didn't get one picture of the little guy. Oops.

Power Outage!

After spending a lovely weekend with Doug's cousin and her family, we returned home to no power and lots of tree branches down. There were some pretty strong winds that came through from what was left of Ike. As we were driving into town we noticed a lot of branches and some trees down. We were a little worried that we would have some branches down too. We had a couple large branches down. One left a small dent in Doug's car. We're glad it didn't hit his window. We didn't even think about the power being off. We got home and neighbor was out and told us we had no power and that it could be two days! It was almost two days. The power finally came on some time last night. The kids did pretty good. We tried to keep them busy. Luckily, Quinn still had school. Some schools in the area were closed. The weather has been really nice. If it had been hot I'm not sure what we would have done. Sunday we had dinner with Cliff and Cammie and the boys finally got to see Kaelin's gerbils. They thought that was really cool. We thought it was really cool that Cliff and Cammie let us put food in their freezer! Now I have lots of laundry to catch up on. I'll probably clean the freezer out since there is no food in there!

Hide and Seek

The boys love playing hide and seek. This is their new hiding spot. We have this corner piece (at least that's what I think it's called) that Doug's Grandfather Kennedy made. We use it to hold blankets. It has taken Quinn 6 years to realize he could fit in it. I was actually surprised that they could fit in there. The corner piece must be well made because the boys weigh around 125 lbs together.

Our Familiy

Quinn is 6 and in the 1st grade. He loves all things Star Wars and Legos. If it's both that's even better. Quinn is taking piano lessons and seems to like it. Quinn is a typical 6 year old and he thinks he knows everything!

Will is 4 and in pre-school. He also loves Star Wars and Legos. His face is not usually brown and yellow, we painted it at the Children's Museum. He's supposed to be Spider-man, but the museum did not have any red or black face paint. He also loves playing with his brothers and his stuffed puppy.

Aiden is also 4 and in pre-school. He's not very excited about school because he and Will will be in different classes. As much as Aiden loves everyone, he only likes to play with Will at school. He also loves Star Wars and Legos.

Riley is 20 months and likes playing dress-up and following her big brothers around. She also likes Star Wars and Legos. She actually sings the theme song to Star Wars along with her brothers! It can get pretty loud around here.

I'm Tasha and if you want to know how old I am just ask Quinn. He likes to tell everyone how old Doug and I are. After having four kids in four and a half years, I don't have many hobbies, unless you count laundry. I've recently started sewing. So far, I've made a chair cushion and tutu for Riley. I like (not love) Star Wars also, it's growing on me. I also like Legos, I just don't like stepping on them!

This is Doug. He loves being in school! Ok, not really. He is hopefully in his last semester of working on his Master's in Industrial Management. I'm sure you've noticed that all the kids love Star Wars and Legos. They get this obsession from Doug. Everyone, except Riley, has a lightsaber! The boys love to go outside with Dad and play with their lightsabers.
